Woodland Park is often referred to as "The City Above the Clouds", at 8,465 feet above sea level. The town often has clear skies while the neighboring towns may be overcast. Woodland park has some amazing views of Pikes Peak and has quick access to hiking, fishing, and climbing. Many of the residents commute to Colorado Springs each day. Woodland Park is known for their Arts and Festivals which are often held at the Ute Pass Cultural Center. The Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center, a museum about dinosaurs and fossils, is located in the heart of Woodland Park.
